Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation awards $190,075 to 73 agencies throughout Connecticut; over $1.7 million awarded since 2004
DANBURY, CT, ISSUED APRIL 10, 2019…The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has awarded a total of $190,075 to 73 different non-profit agencies throughout Connecticut, as part of an annual tradition first established in 2004.
This year’s total represents an increase of 6% in contributions over the previous year. The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation (SBD Foundation) is administered by a committee of Savings Bank of Danbury Corporators, directors and bank officers.
The Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million to local non-profit organizations making a positive difference in our communities. The grants help support agencies in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts and Culture, Community Service and Economic Development, Education and Health and Human Service.

The Foundation Grants Committee meets once a year to review requests. Awards are made to eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. The 2019 Foundation Grant Application will be available in the summer of 2019. Any organization interested in being considered should review the application's checklist and include all of the elements listed on the application.
