Branches Closed Due to COVID-19
DANBURY, CT, ISSUED MARCH 17, 2020…Savings Bank of Danbury will temporarily close its banking office lobbies effective Wednesday, March 18, as a result of ongoing concerns throughout the region and beyond about the potential community spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
The bank will continue to serve the needs of its customers during this time with uninterrupted banking services through a variety of other means. All of the bank’s drive-up windows will remain open and fully operational. Additionally, Savings Bank of Danbury offers a number of other options including Online Banking, Mobile Banking and Telephone Banking services on a 24/7 basis.
Martin G. Morgado, Chief Executive Officer at Savings Bank of Danbury, said that the decision was based on an evaluation of the latest information and health guidelines. “This isn’t a step we take lightly, but we believe it is necessary in order to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and to protect our customers and employees during this unusual time.” He said that his decision came after evaluating the recommendations and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as from local and state health departments.
He added, “We are optimistic that this measure will be short-term and that we will return to full service in the near future. In the meantime, though, our valued customers will still have full access to a wide array of banking services, including drive-throughs, ATMs, and our Online Banking, Mobile Banking and Telephone Banking. We have team members in place dedicated to helping any customers who need assistance in navigating through any of our other banking options.” To learn more about any of these options, please visit http://sbdanbury.com.
Morgado added, “We are sorry for any inconvenience that the temporary closing of our bank branch lobbies may cause. But we hope everyone understands that the safety of our banking customers and employees is a top priority; we continue to work hard on your behalf, and we look forward to continuing to serve you.”
